Great place for a cup of coffee, breakfast, light lunch or snack. Good food at very reasonable prices. Lots of room inside and tables outside in a lovely setting. And, because it's inside the MLK library, it's nice and quiet.

$1 coffee is the best thing I’ve ever seen! Yes, you can get an 8oz cup of coffee for only $1. That means you can get 40 ounces of coffee here for the same price as a 12oz cup from Starbucks! That alone deserves 5 stars. The food is also very well priced, and you can get breakfast for only $3 (or less). The spaces is also good for chilling or studying by yourself or in a group. If I lived close by, I would probably come here every day

The name Marianne is in honor of the woman who trained many hospitality workers under an apprenticeship program! I love the name :). The cafe is in the right atrium as you walk into the MLK Library, and is a small, inexpensive cafe (coffee is $1), with foods provided by the DC Central Kitchen. This cafe employs people under an apprenticeship program in hospitality. I ordered a cesar salad with grilled chicken. It was a fairly simple salad, but solid for only $8. A quaint place with a powerful mission of empowering our youth communities. I will continue to support this cafe :)

I really enjoyed working here in this café. It’s inside MLK public library, on the first floor right around the corner when you enter. Their prices are pretty decent for a simple library coffeeshop. I ordered the hot latte with a roasted turkey wrap. Very delicious. They couldn’t heat up the wrap for me, though. I think the only do that with other sandwiches. But definitely consider giving them a visit if you’re studying at the library one day. There are other quieter rooms where you can study/read/work on the 2nd and 3rd floors. I’m not sure if you can take food up there, though.
